Does My Policy Include Flood Coverage?

Did you know that your homeowners or dwelling fire policy does not cover flood? Most policies exclude flood coverage, leaving you vulnerable to significant financial hardship if your property suffers flood damage. While you may not think you need Flood insurance, it is always best to discuss your options with an Allied Trust agent. According to the federal government’s Floodsmart program, “homes and businesses with mortgages from federally regulated or insured lenders in high-risk flood areas are required to have flood insurance. While flood insurance is not federally required if you live in a moderate-to-low risk flood area, it is still available and strongly recommended.”
